Outreach Resource Coordinator
Lancaster County Program
Emma Mcanany joined the Good Sam team in November 2023. As the first to hold this pivotal position at Good Sam, Emma plays a crucial role in engaging with and locating individuals experiencing street homelessness, conducting intakes for those who are unhoused in the Ephrata community, and collaborating with the winter shelter program to address the unique needs of those in need.
With a background in community health work, Emma’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others is evident throughout her career. Prior to joining Good Sam, she volunteered her time at the Winter Shelter and Water Street Rescue Mission. Emma previously worked with Tenfold (formerly Tabor) and Lancaster EMS, where her journey intersected with a life-changing encounter.
During her time at Tabor, Emma met an individual seeking assistance with housing. Visiting the shelter she was staying at and connecting with the staff members left a lasting impression on Emma, influencing her decision to apply for her current position at Good Sam. Emma’s favorite part of her job is helping others successfully reach their goals.
Outside of work, Emma is an active member of Journey Church in Lancaster. She and her husband have two children, a 25-year-old son and an 18-year-old daughter. The Mcanany house is also home to two dogs, a cat, and a (talkative) macaw!
