Nate Hoffer

Chief Executive Officer

Nate Hoffer has served as Chief Executive Officer of Good Samaritan Services since 2009. Under his leadership, Good Sam has grown from a small organization serving 15 people daily in one location to a regional nonprofit serving up to 300 men, women, and children each day across Lancaster and Chester Counties. During his tenure, the organization’s annual operating budget has grown from less than $200,000 to nearly $4 million.

Nate has guided Good Sam through several strategic mergers and expansions, significantly increasing the organization’s reach and impact. He has also championed the development of innovative programs, including matched savings, microloans, and professional counseling, to help individuals and families move from housing crisis to long-term stability. Under his leadership, Good Sam earned the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) Seal of Excellence, recognizing its commitment to excellence in nonprofit management and governance.

Passionate about developing leaders and strengthening the nonprofit sector, Nate actively mentors and advises executive directors, nonprofit boards, and emerging organizations. Drawing on more than two decades of nonprofit leadership experience, he provides guidance in organizational development, strategic planning, fundraising, governance, and leadership. He particularly enjoys helping smaller, grassroots organizations build the foundation they need to grow, thrive, and serve their communities effectively.

Nate’s commitment to community leadership extends beyond Good Sam. He has been appointed to the WellSpan Health East Region Board of Directors, and serves as Chair of the Advisory Committee for Pottstown Beacon of Hope. He is also a member and past president of the Denver-Ephrata Rotary Club.

Earlier in his career, Nate worked with Bread for the World in Washington, D.C., and the Independent Jamaican Council for Human Rights in Kingston, Jamaica. He also previously served as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Conner M. Holland Foundation, which provides financial assistance to families facing pediatric cancer.

Nate holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Eastern Mennonite University, a Master of Business Administration from Eastern University, and a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Arcadia University.

Nate and his wife, Rebekah, live in Ephrata with their three children and attend LCBC Church in Ephrata.
