Shari joined Good Samaritan Services as the Development Administrative Assistant in April, 2022. She provides essential administrative support to the Good Sam Development Team.

Shari earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s in Educational Technology. She taught Special Education for 22 years at Manheim Township School District and was an Educational Consultant for 3 years. After retiring from public education, she then worked in student ministry at Worship Center for 6 1/2 years as a Ministry Assistant and as a Middle School Director.

Shari spent all of her career working with children, most of those years with children and families with very specific needs who were in need of an advocate, and when she left her last position she knew she wanted to continue to do meaningful work. She loved the impact Good Sam makes in the community and that everyone, from the people that Good Sam serves to the staff, are valued.

“I love that everyone on staff is here at Good Sam for the same purpose and when you hear them speak, about what they do and about our clients, they speak with passion and they are committed to working together as a team,” Shari said.

Over the last 10 years Shari and her husband have volunteered in student ministry. She has also been involved in the Conestoga Valley Boys Soccer Booster Club and served as Vice President and President. Over the years she has supported several missionaries in Texas, Austria, and Norway and Changing Destiny, a non-profit that works to empower and educate vulnerable women and children affected by injustices like abuse, neglect, human trafficking, poverty, and lack of access to education in South Asia.

Shari has been married for 26 years and has two boys. Her oldest just got married and her youngest is in college. She loves her dogs, a Norwegian Elkhound and a Mini Labradoodle. Shari enjoys hiking and riding bicycle. Her family also loves game nights and are always looking for fun new card and board games.
