Empowering through compassion: Ace's Story

When Ace came to Good Sam, debilitating symptoms of severe anxiety were making it a struggle for him to maintain employment. While working through Good Sam's program, our team was able to support Ace through the process of applying for financial assistance that he qualified for due to his disability.

Our team also started to see Ace's sense of hope and confidence multiply. An opportunity arose for him to apply for affordable housing that was a perfect fit for his financial needs. An interview was required as part of the application, something that would have seemed impossible to Ace in the past due to his anxiety. Good Sam Resource Coordinator, Mark, asked if Ace needed him to go along to the interview. He replied confidently, “I got this."

Ace's application was accepted and he was excited to move into independent housing!
