House Manager
Chester County Programs
Rodney Miller grew up in Brooklyn and had a rough time growing up on the streets of the city. He found himself too often in trouble with the law, and with two kids and a record he was “just surviving”. “I knew I had to get a new life. Thankfully I was introduced to Good Samaritan. Since I arrived here I have become almost a new man.” Soon after his arrival at Good Sam, the Code Blue Winter Shelter opened in Phoenixville, and Rodney got a position working there. From there, he got a job working with Nourish Mobile Market, rising to become truck captain. And along with all of this, for the last two years, he has worked as a Good Sam House Manager. This past year Rodney did the Good Samaritan Services’ Job Training Program. As a result, he got a position at Allan Meyers, working as a parts driver.
Rodney has grandsons and two sons in New York, and he aspires to have a place where they can come and be at home. His job and his work at Good Sam are giving him the opportunity to save for that.
