Our newest housing facility is officially open in downtown Lancaster City! Once office space, this newly renovated N. Lime St. location marks a significant milestone for Good Sam as it’s our first housing facility in Lancaster City dedicated to serving single mothers and their families.

Thanks to the generosity of our community partners—WellSpan Health, Clark Associates, Ferree Foundation, and Bentley Systems—we were able to complete the nearly $60k renovations that made this new housing possible. The home now features a renovated kitchen, a cozy living and dining area, a child-friendly bathroom, four bedrooms, new flooring, firewalls, and a sprinkler system.

This location will soon be home to four families, offering not only safe, short-term housing but also personalized case management and support services. Our Resource Coordinators will work on site, providing each family with the individualized support and resources they need to move from crisis to stability.

Plus, its downtown location offers easy access to public transportation, daycare, and employment opportunities, making it a great fit for the families we will serve.

After the ribbon cutting, community members had the opportunity to tour the renovated and furnished rooms!

This home will not only impact the lives of our program participants but also strengthen the community as a whole,” said Hannah Miller, Chief Program & Impact Officer of Good Samaritan Services.

We want to thank our generous partners for funding this project as well as the donors who sponsored and furnished the four bedrooms, helping the house feel like a home.

Want to help? There are still opportunities! We are looking for partners to fund a Laundry Room and Patio Renovation to further enhance the living spaces for the mothers who will call this building home. If interested, email info@goodsamservices.org.
