Good Samaritan Services and Local Phoenixville, PA restaurants join together to continue the 19-year tradition of raising funds for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
The 19th Annual Taste of Phoenixville was a smashing success!
Bringing in over $83,000 in funding, Good Sam and the Phoenixville Community did not let COVID-19 stop them. With a pivot to take-out, Good Samaritan Services empowered the community to take their health into their own hands while they still participated in an exciting and engaging event to raise money for Good Samaritan Services.
“This year’s event provided so many opportunities to support not only Good Sam, but our beloved local restaurants as well,” said Shadoe Caprell, Development & Communications Coordinator for Good Sam. “In the midst of so many shutdowns, local restaurants are still provided an extensive amount of support, including donated meals, beverages, gift cards, baskets, and more! I was blown away by their generosity in the midst of the most difficult times they’re facing.”
The Taste was a 5-day event this year, January 17th – 21st, 2021, replacing the single night event it has been for the past 18 years.
Each day featured a local restaurant’s cuisine, and we are so grateful to the following TOP restaurants for making
The Taste of Phoenixville possible!
- Sunday: Great American Pub
- Monday: Bistro on Bridge
- Tuesday: Molly Maguire’s Irish Pub
- Wednesday: Stone House Grille
- Thursday: Uncle B’s Bar B Q
The Taste also included gift card packs from a variety of local restaurants, a digital silent auction, a Taste cookbook, Taste glassware, raffles, prizes, a digital concert featuring Carrie Morgan, and more!
John Sakos of Great American Pub PXV said to Good Sam, “We’re here to support each other. This is our community, and we can only get through these times together. Good Sam has been doing good in Phoenixville for nearly 20 years, and we’re glad to be able to support them this year at The Taste of Phoenixville.”
A Taste of Success
With the support of our local restaurants, businesses, sponsors, and community, Good Sam was able to raise over $83,000 at this year’s Taste. This kind of success is only possible when a community pulls together. These funds will go directly towards serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness in Phoenixville, and all across Lancaster and Chester Counties.

Nate Hoffer, Executive Director of Good Samaritan Services said, “While this is very different from what we’ve done over the last couple of decades, we are thrilled that we were able to provide another option for The Taste that is safe and just as fun. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and funds our Emergency Shelter in Phoenixville for nearly half a year. It was so important for us to keep this tradition going, and we are so grateful for its continued success this year.”
