Director of Community Engagement
Mandy graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Ed. After teaching second grade for one year, she began working for her church and worked there for a total of 10 years, beginning as an admin in youth ministry and ending her time there as the Director of Connections.
She also has worked as a relief house parent for the Milton Hershey School, and lived in Mexico, and served at a safe house for minor girls rescued from sex trafficking. As a single mom who once had almost nothing to her name, she has the deepest empathy for those on a similar journey and is passionate about helping others get connected to this very important mission.
We don’t always understand the season of life we are in, and we often don’t know the lessons we are learning and needing to learn. She had no idea how much of her life’s work and experience would help her in this new role at Good Sam. While the last 15 years have been filled with wonderful gifts, like her three daughters, it has also been filled with grief, loss, and disappointments. In the middle, it was hard to see how any of it would make sense one day.
But today, Mandy can say that so much of what she has been through, including the most painful moments, has become a gift that she gets to offer to others through her role at Good Sam, and she wouldn’t trade any of it because there is a richness to her life that she could only experience through the kindness and faithfulness of God.
